Week 6 

In the sixth week, the eyes and ears of the fetus begin to appear, as well as the rapidly growing part of the brain. The head looks bigger than the rest of the body, curved and looks like a tail at the end of the body. 

Hands and feet have also started to form (known as limb buds). The embryo is covered with a thin layer of transparent skin. 

Symptoms 

Some pregnant women also experience headaches, morning sickness, nausea. There are also those who cannot eat well (do not eat). 

Emotional changes are also often associated during pregnancy. During pregnancy, the body undergoes significant hormonal changes. Estrogen and progesterone levels rise rapidly and cause emotional changes. 

Tips for you 

Practice a healthy diet during pregnancy, eating nutritious food is important for the well-being of you and your baby. If you can’t eat well (don’t eat), drink enough water, eat small amounts but often and take the vitamins recommended for you. 

Sono Ultrasound 

The sixth week is the perfect week to do the first ultrasound scan of your pregnancy. Sac size measurement, due date or EDD will be calculated. Ultrasound will determine how many weeks pregnant you are based on the size of the fetus. 

While the fetal heartbeat will also be checked usually starting around 6 weeks and above. Through Ultrasound will also determine if you are pregnant with one or more fetuses.
